Welcome. My passion is to engage with good books, culture, and theology as an everyman in order to help others benefit from the best of these worlds. I’m pleased to have had words of mine published at The Gospel Coalition Canada, Mere Orthodoxy, Faith Today, AgapeReview, THRIVE, and other publications, and to have the opportunity to serve as co-editor on a short introduction to the work of John Gill as well as the 2023 edition of The Fellowship’s history book, A Glorious Fellowship of Churches.
As for me? I am a husband to my wonderful wife Kaitlyn, a father of four kiddos, an avid reader, a freelance writer and editor, a graduate of Heritage College and Seminary, and I have served as an elder in my local church near Montreal. My day job is in the world of industrial automation (robots, gizmos, blinking lights).
Reading and writing is really a slow-motion conversation, and one that is mutually beneficial when engaged in good faith. I am always glad to hear from readers; you can email me at philipcotnoir(at)hotmail(dot)com.

Wonderful to see your faith journey’s progress and accounting of it through your writing! Keep up the dialogue!
Phil, I love your article at the Gospel Coalition on Why We Need Beautiful Churches. I’d like to connect.
Check the last photo attribution. Yes to Frauenkirche. But in Dresden! And having been re-built from WWII bombing adds to your point.
For now,
