Merry Christmas to all! I have two articles that were recently published that I want to let you know about.
The first is a little Christmas essay over at TGC Canada which reflects on the moral power of our Christmas stories, their irreducibly Christian shape, and why their enduring moral power can serve as a signpost, a lighthouse, a pathway back towards Christianity.
The Enduring Moral Power of Christmas
The second article is at a new publication for me, Front Porch Republic. This is a lesser-known outlet that features some really thoughtful writing on the themes of place, limits, faith, liberty, and literature. I thought it would be a good fit for an essay I wrote after recently re-reading Marilynne Robinson’s great novel, Gilead. I have some personal history with the novel, since it was my late mother who first gave it to me. I weave some of this into the article, making it more of a personal essay. I enjoyed writing it, and I hope it’s a blessing to you.
